Vacation Mid-Point

The birthday has come and gone and the world hasn't collapsed. Not that it's not trying, at least not here.

I went in and looked at the plan for the kitchen cabinets. Looks mighty nice on paper! The bottom line, I'm sensing, is this is gonna cost me, Mucho Cost Me!! It's high time to get it done though, obviously... I'm feeling good that I can see a plan and ultimately, a kitchen again!

My vacation is slipping by as well. I'm actually proud of some of the tasks completed or at least transitioning. I've managed to relocate a couple of over-sized shrubs from the garden wall of the patio to the front yard. I yanked my back around, naturally, but how else would I realize that I'm another year older! I've mowed the yard, fertilized, over-seeded and have been doing the dandelion walk a couple of times so far. Overall, it looks good from the street where it counts, I suppose. We need some rain to kick the seed in gear, though.

I've centralized all my computer parts and remnants in one location so I'll be able to figure out what to lose and what to store. I'm putting my "hobby" of computer tinkering on hiatus for a bit, likely a long "bit." One can get to "interested" in ones' hobbies and come to miss or neglect other items in their lives... Like ones' future retirement and how much a "hobby" run rampant in the checkbook and set said one back!

I'm also in the process of thinning out my wares for the Goodwill. A garage sale may actually be profitable with the crap I have around here, but lacking that "business savvy" talent, I'll take the write-off. For one person living in a four bedroom house (without a kitchen,) I've accumulated a bunch of stuff!!

That'll do for now. Oh, in sad news: Mom's little pup Champer died Monday morning. It all happened pretty quick, he was sick for about a day. He's deeply missed.

Thanks again for stopping by!
Steve
