Happy first full day of Summer, folks!
Finally summer... I was actually really enjoying the extended "Spring." I'm not much of an 80 degree guy, but I suppose that's summer in Minnesota. 'Skeeters are coming out in force as well. They make it difficult to hang out on the deck at night and watch the stars. Again, the price for living in "The Land of 10,000 Lakes!"
Kitchen Update: (I know everyone is waiting with bated breath...)
My cabinet guy called me the day before yesterday. I had left him a voice mail a couple of days prior about my final alterations in the plan and that I would be ready to make it happen. He informed me the company he was "formerly" employed with had gone into receivership (I think) and was reorganizing. He said he was possibly going to be rehired within the week but that wasn't for sure. He has a line on another company who provides access to the same cabinet maker as another option.
Ain't it my luck... I crap around 6 or so years with this thing and then the bottom falls out when I'm getting ready to DO IT! It's just Whack, my luck, that is...
I like working with this guy and I like the cabinets I selected. I'm a little wary of this cabinet stuff anyway after hearing of the horror stories of some friends, guy takes the $$ and bails on the job, claiming bankruptcy. "The American Way," right??
Well, I've stalled it this long. Another week to let the dust settle and I'll have a better feel for the grand plan. It'll give me some time to keep looking as well.
Optimism? Bah!!
Another Happy Homeowner,
Steve
