August 1, 2008 Update...
In review of prior entries:
- Mom's garage door is functional. I installed the new opener and it works! Yay! Incidentally, while I was putting it up one of the trees in the back yard cracked off in the wind. About a third of it came down. It was too close to another tree and had been growing kind of "one-sided" anyway. I took the chainsaw up this past week and took care of that action! I like chain saws...
- Trooper went in for his yearly exam and shots this week. All-in-all, he continues to do well. Slow to get up, but once he's up, he's good to go. Slow, but goes... He got a bath right before we went to the vet and I think he looks smaller. Judging by the hair left in the tub, he IS smaller!
I took a second week of vacation in July anticipating the cabinet arrival. I had to guess the date of arrival when I put in the request and got lucky. The cabinets came TODAY! Weeee!! I've had the first part of the week to pick at things around here, work on the yard, diddle with the computer habit, etc. Now, I have a kitchen in my garage, in boxes of course. But it's here and that's what counts. I had to dive into debt for them so I won't be traveling the world this year... Or next... (Not that there were plans in place or anything (;o) ).
In looking the kitchen space over, there's some items I've neglected in prep for the cabinets. I'll have to do a little sheetrock mudding. I hate sheetrock mudding. HATE. But it must be done. 10 years, I'm told by Kayla, (Thanks Kayla!) and I still have to finish "prep." So the goal this weekend is to wrap the prep and maybe hang a cabinet or two.
